TERRE celebrated 'Earth day', a global annual event for the environment from 19th April to 22nd April 2019. On this occasion, TERRE in association with Bank of Maharashtra and P.N. Gadgil & Sons organized a four-day free PUC check campaign at Abhiruchi Mall, Narayan Peth, Riverside road and Shivajinagar in Pune city.
The objective of this campaign was to aware people about air pollution and to keep a check on vehicles that have high gas emissions. The campaign was led by Mr. Ankit Gaurav, Project Leader TERRE and Mr. Saurabh Kelkar, Intern TERRE. People from different areas of Pune showed their support for this initiative by checking 1057 vehicles within four days.
"The more trees we conserve, the more we will help reduce global temperatures. Today, many organisations are working to plant and protect trees, but anti-social citizens living nearby are eager to destroy those trees by setting them on fire. You are destroying trees for your own selfish purposes, but be careful, you will be the cause of your own destruction by doing such things....!!"
