TERRE celebrated 'Earth day', a global annual event for the environment from 19th April to 22nd April 2019. On this occasion, TERRE in association with Bank of Maharashtra and P.N. Gadgil & Sons organized a four-day free PUC check campaign at Abhiruchi Mall, Narayan Peth, Riverside road and Shivajinagar in Pune city.
The objective of this campaign was to aware people about air pollution and to keep a check on vehicles that have high gas emissions. The campaign was led by Mr. Ankit Gaurav, Project Leader TERRE and Mr. Saurabh Kelkar, Intern TERRE. People from different areas of Pune showed their support for this initiative by checking 1057 vehicles within four days.
"The five great elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space—are interconnected. They are capable of annihilating the human race if it fails to respect them. The recent disaster in Nepal has proven that environmental degradation is driven by human greed. If timely measures are not taken, humanity could be wiped off the face of the Earth in the coming years.....!!"
