TERRE celebrated 'Earth day', a global annual event for the environment from 19th April to 22nd April 2019. On this occasion, TERRE in association with Bank of Maharashtra and P.N. Gadgil & Sons organized a four-day free PUC check campaign at Abhiruchi Mall, Narayan Peth, Riverside road and Shivajinagar in Pune city.
The objective of this campaign was to aware people about air pollution and to keep a check on vehicles that have high gas emissions. The campaign was led by Mr. Ankit Gaurav, Project Leader TERRE and Mr. Saurabh Kelkar, Intern TERRE. People from different areas of Pune showed their support for this initiative by checking 1057 vehicles within four days.
"Make every day Environment Day. One-off tree plantings and beach cleanups get headlines, but climate change doesn't take weekends off.
Treating Environment Day like a one-day festival is like brushing your teeth only on Dental Hygiene Day.
Make sure that you will act every day for the environment..............!!"
