On the occasion of the 36th World Ozone Day, three different competitions on the theme "Montreal Protocol - Keeping us, our food and vaccines cool" for the school students in the age group of 10 to 17 years was organized by MPCL, Wotastic Solutions and TERRE Policy Centre. The three categories of the competitions were Poster Design: Drawing sheet, Painting / Rangoli: Drawing sheet / Rangoli Photo and Slogan Writing. The best entries of Paintings, Posters, and Slogans received from schools were evaluated and finalized by a Panel of Judges at MPCB, Wotastic Solutions and TERRE Policy Centre. Winners of different categories were declared on 16th September 2021 on a Virtual platform in the presence of Mr. Aabasaheb Jarhad (IAS, Chairman, MPCB), Mr. Ashok Shingare (IAS, Member Secretary, MPCB). Dr. Sandeep Salvi (Chest Research & Training PVT Ltd.), Dr. Rakesh Kumar (NEERI), Dr. Vinitaa Apte (TERRE Policy Centre) and Prof. A. Garg (IITB) were the guest speakers for the event.
"The more trees we conserve, the more we will help reduce global temperatures. Today, many organisations are working to plant and protect trees, but anti-social citizens living nearby are eager to destroy those trees by setting them on fire. You are destroying trees for your own selfish purposes, but be careful, you will be the cause of your own destruction by doing such things....!!"
