TERRE Sandhya, an event series organized by TERRE Policy Centre to understand various interdisciplinary aspects of the environment and to create awareness among people, successfully conducted a lecture on the topic “Importance of Honey Bees in Human Life” on Friday, 8 May 2026, at Indradhanushya Environment and Citizenship Centre, Dattawadi, Pune.
The session was delivered by researcher, trainer, and expert Mr. Prashant Sitaramchandra Sawant, who highlighted the crucial role of honey bees in maintaining ecological balance, biodiversity, and agricultural sustainability. He explained the importance of bees in pollination and emphasized their significant contribution to food security and human life.
Participants actively engaged in the discussion by asking questions and sharing their views. The programme helped create awareness about environmental conservation and the protection of biodiversity among attendees.
